Forever Morgans Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 rescue organization that strives to help Morgan horses in immediate need and places them in adoptive or foster homes. Horses come from broker lots, auctions, neglect and abuse situations, and owner surrender. We always need foster and adoptive homes, donations, and volunteers. Please join us!
Meet my first foster, #545 a 2004 bay Morgan mare
formally driven by the Amish.
"HALLIE"
Breeding Sport Morgans has been my passion, my daily routine, and my absolute love for over 25 years. So many of my Blueandwhite Morgans have gone on to fabulous careers, which makes me such a proud "mom" rooting from the show rails. As I have got older, the thought of not breeding anymore was at first, hard to even contemplate. The exhilaration of bringing a new foal in to this world is still the most moving and miraculous event to watch, as a youngster takes her first whiff of oxygen, suddenly springing to life.
But, I am thrilled to have found a new passion, one in which I can give back to the breed I love so much. I am a new Foster parent for Forever Morgans Rescue, an amazing group who saves Morgans from the kill pen. Once a Morgan is rescued, he must go to a quarantine barn for 30 days where he is checked out and evaluated for future adoption. From there, a rescue goes to a Foster home for rehabilitative care and help finding a forever home. My new calling!
Hallie is the sweetest, kindest mare, even though she has suffered from neglect. Her trust in me has been amazing as I have treated her sarcoid, had the farrier do some corrective trimming of her feet and started to ride her again. Here is Hallie after just 60 days of rehabilitation.
